Dutalys is a privately owned antibody technology company based in Vienna, Austria. We are a small and highly motivated team of people with a shared commitment to channel state-of-the-art empirical and computational approaches towards creating effective antibody drugs for the treatment of serious and life- threatening diseases. We are offering an excellent opportunity to work on antibody engineering together with experienced scientists in the field.

We currently have an opening for a Post-doc/Scientist in Phage Display, who will focus on the selection, screening and optimization of bispecific antibodies against a variety of therapeutic targets. The position will be graded as Associate Scientist, Scientist or Senior Scientist depending on the experience of the successful candidate.

  • Devise phage selection strategies and design selection arms
  • Perform phage selections using manual and automated techniques
  • Perform high-throughput screening using ELISA automation
  • Express and purify selected antibody clones in E.coli
  • Perform affinity maturation and optimization of antibodies
  • Participate in the development of new antibody technology

Above all, we are looking for a talented scientist who possesses excellent scientific qualities, in particular, thoroughness and attention to detail. In addition, the candidate should have:

  • Thorough understanding of the mathematics that underlie the kinetics of protein-protein interaction
  • Experience in the day-to-day cloning of cDNAs, protein expression in E.coli and basic protein chemistry such as affinity purification and Western Blotting
  • Ability to accurately record and effectively communicate scientific data and ideas in English
  • Commitment to keeping abreast of the latest literature in the field of phage display

Experience in affinity maturation and in the cloning of libraries would be of advantage.
